For the past 11 years, CNBC’s annual “Disruptor 50 list” has been highlighting private companies transforming industries. On behalf of the entire Orca Security team, I’m honored that we’re #24 on this year’s list of disruptors.
Since our inception in 2019, we’ve been transforming the cloud security industry time after time, year after year. To say that this recognition is appreciated would be an understatement.
First-to-Market Innovations, and Then Some
From being the first cloud security company to offer agentless cloud security technology, to obtaining our SideScanning™ patent at the end of 2022, we’ve been busy driving cloud security to the next level.
The idea for our SideScanning™ technology started with understanding the real problem preventing organizations from achieving complete cloud security: available solutions moved too slowly and didn’t scale, leaving dangerous blind spots. With agentless security, teams are up and running in seconds, all assets are covered, and risks are surfaced in a contextualized, prioritized manner.
We also brought the first context-aware Shift Left security capabilities to market, as well as agentless API security and ChatGPT integration to automatically generate complete remediation instructions for detected risks.
Another significant milestone for Orca this year was our achievement of the FedRAMP Ready designation, making the Orca Cloud Security Platform available to the US Federal Government, its agencies and contractors with a fully agentless cloud security platform for Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) environments.
A Dream Team Like No Other
In the past year, we’ve doubled our employee count and tripled our customer count. We’ve expanded our platform to support more cloud providers, and with our API Security, Data Security Posture Management (DPSM) and Cloud Cost Optimization capabilities, Orca is the industry’s most complete cloud security platform, without requiring any third party integrations.
Our dedicated Research Pod discovers and analyzes cloud risks and vulnerabilities that help the cybersecurity community stay current with the latest challenges facing organizations. To date, the Orca Research Pod has discovered and helped remediate 12 critical cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities on AWS and Azure, delivering important contributions to the safety of cloud environments.
In addition to this prestigious CNBC Disruptor award, we were proudly named AWS Global Security Partner of the Year, and received the SC Award for the best Cloud Security Posture Management Solution.
Just recently, we appointed James Love as our new President of Field Operations. His extensive experience includes increasing annual recurring revenue for Illumio by 350%. I also took on the role of CEO and Co-Founder while Avi became our Chief Innovation Officer and Co-Founder, emphasizing our commitment to growing big and scaling intelligently.
This Is Only the Beginning
We may be four years in, but we’ve barely begun. Orca Security is a force to be reckoned with, innovating and changing the game since day one—and we’re not stopping now.
Thank you to CNBC for recognizing our cutting edge approach to cloud security, and thank you to our employees, investors, customers, and partners for working hard every day to make “killer cybersecurity in the cloud” possible.
