Orca now integrates with Linear, a project planning tool for modern software development teams that care about quality. Taking a risk-based approach to quality goes beyond functionality and design to consider any risks to the users and their data. The bi-directional integration between Linear and Orca enables stronger collaboration between security and cross-functional product teams to fix risky security and compliance gaps as part of delivering quality.

Streamline security fixes by sharing relevant context to the right people

With Linear as your primary operating tool to streamline product development, Orca Security delivers relevant details about alerts to help teams prioritize security fixes in the same place they manage their workstream. Within the Orca Platform, admins can set up different templates for different teams, types of alerts, or however they want to organize their structure. The main goal is to align the context that end users need to do their work efficiently.

Automatically update alerts in Orca and issues in Linear as they get worked

There are two ways to create a Linear issue from Orca: by setting up an automation for a set of alerts that meet certain criteria and by manually selecting “Take Action” on an alert.

To set up an automation, admins first enter a query that has the criteria for the types of alerts they want to automatically create issues for in Linear. Once the query is set, the admin then selects Linear as the ticketing solution and chooses which template to use to send the relevant data into the issue.

Users can also manually trigger an issue to be created with a specific template using the “Take Action” option on an alert.

In both of these scenarios, when an issue is created in Linear, the issue is also linked to the Orca alert. This makes it easy to track the status of the alert and close it out when it has been resolved. In creating the template, admins have the opportunity to select what status the associated Orca alert should be updated to if the work is marked as “Done” in Linear, and vice versa.

By integrating Orca with Linear, security findings can flow into the same way work gets done across developers and security teams, making it easier to know what needs attention, find the details to justify and do the work, and automatically close the loop when remediation is finished and verified.
